Some Tips on Protecting Your Landscape...
Isolate Your Sprinkler System From Your Potable Drinking Water
Shut off your point-of-connection valve in case breaks occur in the mainline sprinkler pipes.
This will reduce the likelyhood of contaminated water being introduced into your drinking water.
Protect All Removable Outdoor Components of Your Landscape
Bring in any outdoor furniture, planting containers, or other items that could blow away.
Protect Trees and Shrubs
If your landscape has small or newly installed trees, consider staking the trees securely.
If necessary, small shrubs can be covered for a short time to protect from wind damage. Erosion Control
Bales of hay or silt-screen fencing are ideal for controlling water borne sand and sediments.
If you have an area likely to receive extensive water run-off, consider implementing such controls prior to the arrival of the hurricane. |
